Shelby Township Historical Committee

The Shelby Community Foundation was founded in 1996 to enhance and enrich the quality of life in Shelby Township. Through the contributions and efforts of buisness leaders and individuals, the Foundation supports projects that will benefit the entire community.

One such project would be the Packard Proving Grounds, should the property become available to Shelby Township. In anticipation of this possibility, the Foundation approved the request of the Shelby Township Historical Committee for the Foundation to accept restricted donations for the benefit of the Proving Grounds. Any donors that wish to designate or restrict their contributions for the Packard Proving Grounds should make that restriction noted on their donation. The donors will receive acknowledgement from the Foundation.

Donations to the Shelby Community Foundation are deductible as allowed by law for 501(C)(3) nonprofit corporations. Their EIN number is 38-3341102. Donations should be sent to Shelby Community Foundation, P.O. Box 183181, Shelby Township,Mi. 48318.

The Foundation supports projects which offer innovative and pratical approaches to community needs. Its major goals are to promote activities and programs that provide residents of the township with the following opportunities:

Cultural enrichment
Historic preservation
Recreational activities
Life-long education
Community beautification
Support for the township library

Contributions can be designated for special purposes and/or used to establish an endowment fund for a specific purpose approved by the Board of Directors. Tell the Foundation what projects you think our community needs:
Establish an endowment to perpetuate a special interest or the memory of a loved one. Designate the Foundation to receive a bequest in your financial and estate planning.
